Hello Families, 

My name is Dawn Butson, and I am honoured to be the principal of St. Ann's. I have many fond memories of this school, where I attended from kindergarten to grade 8. 

I am passionate about creating an environment where students can learn and grow through hands-on activities, STEM/STEAM, and the Global Competencies of creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, communication, citizenship, and character. With a background in Mathematics, I believe student achievement can excel when students are engaged and making real-world connections. Fostering community partnerships and leveraging digital technology are ways we help our students be active learners and prepare them for the future. 

Home-school connection is essential to student success, and I am excited to meet families and build relationships. Regular communication with home is always our goal. We have a YMCA Child Care Centre attached to the school that provides before and after-school care, which is a convenient and reliable option for many families. 

St. Ann’s Catholic School welcomes, accepts, and provides opportunities for everyone. We are committed to maintaining a culture of spiritual, physical, social-emotional, and mental wellness. We are dedicated to creating a safe space where all students can walk in, open their minds and hearts to learning, and feel they belong.
